Professor Lester-Irabinna Rigney is from the Narungga, Kaurna and Ngarrindjeri Nations of South Australia and is Professor and Director of Studies at Yunggorendi First Nations Centre for Higher Education and Research at Flinders University, Adelaide. His work on Indigenist Research focusses on deracialising and decolonising research. The emphasis is on reframing, reclaiming and renaming Indigenous Research by taking inspiration from the work of researchers in the feminist movement. From that perspective he postulated three fundamental and interrelated principles: resistance, political integrity and privileging Indigenous voices.
