The National Indigenous Research and Knowledges Network (NIRAKN) was established in 2012 under the Special Research Initiative (SRI) for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Researchers’ Network (ATSIRN).

NIRAKN is now in a legacy phase that saw our programs and research coming to a close during 2020. These pages share relevant and important information for Indigenous Higher Degree Research students and their supervisors from the popular NIRAKN workshop series. The Annual Reports will give you insights into the workings and findings of the NIRAKN initiative.

“We extend our sincere thanks to our former node leaders and partner organisation representatives as well as our current state hub leaders for contributing to NIRAKN's outstanding success.”

In the legacy phase, we will continue to send newsletters to our Friends of NIRAKN to communicate about scholarships, opportunities to publish, recommend journal editions, events, domestic and international conferences, seminars, bursaries and symposiums. You can subscribe and submit news items to the newsletter by emailing
